ARCADIS (NASDAQ: ARCAF - News; EURONEXT: ARCAD) announced today that it has been presented with the National Association of Environmental Professionals' (NAEP) award for "Best Available Environmental Technology" for the services performed in conjunction with the U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (U.S. EPA) National Risk Management Research Laboratory (NRML) at the U.S. Coast Guard's Support Center Elizabeth City, North Carolina. The firm received the award at a presentation dinner held on Tuesday, June 24 in San Antonio, Texas. The presentation was part of NAEP's 28th annual national conference. ARCADIS shares the award with the U.S. Coast Guard and NRML for the remediation strategy they designed to treat hexavalent chromium in soil and groundwater below an active aircraft service center.
"This was a great example of how we were able to partner with the Coast Guard and NRML to use the best available technology to create the most effective and efficient solution," said Don Malone, PE, and project manager. "The U.S. Coast Guard is very proactive in their environmental stewardship and this project became an excellent opportunity for us to use state-of-the-art technology to remediate soil and groundwater," Malone explained.
NAEP is an organization dedicated to advancing environmental professions in the U.S. and abroad. Its mission is to provide a forum for state-of-the-art information on environmental planning, research, and management.
