Award Winning Planned Community

St. Johns County, FL

Julington Creek is one of the largest planned communities in northeast Florida. It will ultimately contain over 9,800 housing units and related commercial, recreational, and public lands on 4,150 acres. The projected population upon build-out will be more than 24,000.

ARCADIS' services began with a market study, site analysis, and detailed site planning. The basic design concept prepared by ARCADIS focused on a series of neighborhood villages connected with green-space buffers of forest and environmentally sensitive wetlands. Approximately 300 acres of the development were designated for recreational functions, including an 18-hole championship golf course, parks, and open-space areas. ARCADIS prepared the Julington Creek Master Plan; consulted on regulatory issues and rezoned the property as a Planned Unit Development; prepared the Application for Development Approval and finalized the Development Order; and participated in numerous public meetings. In addition, ARCADIS served as the civil engineering and surveying consultant for this project, providing design and construction administration for streets, the entranceway, water and sewer utilities, golf course, and drainage.

ARCADIS was recognized for its work on the Julington Creek project with an American Planning Association (APA) Award of Excellence.

Construction Value: $100 million
