Santan Vista Water Treatment Plant — Program Management
Gilbert, AZ
ARCADIS served as the program and project manager/owners' representative for this $109.8 million project. Because of the unique joint ownership between the town of Gilbert and the city of Chandler, an important aspect of ARCADIS' role was to represent both clients with fairness and objectivity to quickly resolve any differences of opinion and approach.
Monitoring progress, quality & conformance
ARCADIS was also responsible for interacting with the architect, construction management firm and construction manager-at-risk to monitor progress and quality and to make certain that the project was in continual conformance with the schedule and budget.
The Santan Vista Water Treatment Plant treats 24 million gallons of water per day, with a future capacity of 48 million gallons per day (expected to be achieved by 2018).
The systems that make up the facility are relatively new technologies that provide safe, clean water to more than 100,000 local residents efficiently and effectively. The plant capacity is shared equally by Gilbert and Chandler.
The Santan Vista Water Treatment Plant features a unique application of advanced engineering and treatment technologies in its building systems, including a combination of ozone technologies and ballasted flocculation.
