Phoenix, Ariz. – Aug. 10, 2007 - ARCADIS (EURONEXT: ARCAD), the international consulting and engineering company is pleased to announce that John Travassos, PWS has joined our Phoenix team as Planning and Permitting Business Practice Manager for our Desert Area.

As the Planning and Permitting Business Practice Manager, Travassos brings more than 25 years of experience to the team. He will be responsible for coordinating and implementing a wide-range of projects ensuring they meet the objectives of our clients, regulators and the expectations of ARCADIS.

Prior to joining ARCADIS, Travassos was the Group Leader for Environmental Planning at URS Corporation. He has been involved in hundreds of projects requiring site analysis, feasibility studies, environmental impact studies and environmental assessments, and has performed as a lead environmental scientist on many projects.  He has contributed to numerous high-profile projects, including environmental monitoring for Boston’s “Big Dig” and leading the design and development of the fish and wildlife remediation plan for the Woburn Industriplex Superfund site.
