Boniface Bigornia Joins ARCADIS as Vice President; Will Develop Flood Risk Management Program in California

 
 

Mr. Bigornia is responsible for developing ARCADIS' flood risk management program in California and assisting with efforts to expand similar programs nationwide.  The program will involve planning, design and construction of structural components of flood control systems, including levees, channels, floodwalls, gates, dams and coastal protection works.  It will also involve developing and implementing non-structural flood risk management measures, such as flood warning systems, evacuation plans and risk communications.

Mr. Bigornia brings 25 years of technical, management and policy/strategy experience to ARCADIS and its clients.  He will assist clients by applying innovations, providing expertise in federal procedures and policies, and creating partnerships with regional, national and global experts to solve complex water resources problems.

Before joining ARCADIS, Mr. Bigornia was the regional program manager of the South Pacific Division's Flood Risk Management Program for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.  The division covers the Sacramento, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Albuquerque, NM, districts.  Prior to that, he was a developmental assignment policy planner at the Corps' headquarters in Washington, DC.  "I'm looking forward to using my expertise and experience to help ARCADIS leverage its existing  flood risk management program to  California and the western US," Mr. Bigornia said.  "As a global leader in planning, designing and implementing flood protection systems, ARCADIS brings enormous international expertise to aid federal, state, and local organizations solve challenging water resource issues and I am thrilled to be a part of the ARCADIS team"
