New York, N.Y. – October 23, 2007 - ARCADIS (EURONEXT: ARCAD), the international consulting and engineering company, today announced that Alfonso Lopez, PE, has joined our New York City office as vice president and water resources operations manager for the Atlantic region.
In his new position, Lopez will be working with our water resources sector within our infrastructure division. His responsibilities will include working closely with ARCADIS’ clients in developing effective approaches to their programs. Lopez will be responsible for leading the Atlantic region water resource infrastructure group with a key focus on projects and market opportunities.
With over 30 years of experience with the New York City Department of Environmental Protection, Lopez has developed, mentored, trained and led divisions and organizations. Recognized as an expert in the field of water and wastewater, Lopez has authored and co-authored numerous papers related to wastewater, wastewater treatment and storm water management.
Prior to joining ARCADIS, Lopez held Deputy Commissioner positions within the New York City Department of Environmental Protection; one for the Bureau of Engineering Design & Construction and the other for the Bureau of Wastewater Treatment. In these roles he was responsible for all levels of management related to highly regulated operations of wastewater facilities throughout New York City and the development, initiation and completion of all water and wastewater infrastructure upgrade and reconstruction projects.
