ARCADIS Wins Two Georgia Partnership for Transportation Quality Design Awards

Atlanta, GA – Nov. 30, 2006 – ARCADIS (NASDAQ: ARCAF, EURONEXT: ARCAD) is proud to announce two of their projects were honored with design awards today at the Georgia Partnership for Transportation Quality Conference (GPTQ) held in Athens, Georgia. The awards recognized the 5th Street Bridge Replacement project for outstanding bridge and structural design and the I-985 Split Diamond Interchange project received the GPTQ District One Design Award.

The 5th Street Bridge project features an elevated park over the I-75/85 Connector. Complete with trees, planter walls, grass and decorative lighting, the 150 feet wide pedestrian and vehicular bridge provides an aesthetically pleasing yet highly functional connector between the main Georgia Tech campus and Technology Square in midtown Atlanta. Designed to block views and dampen noise from interstate highway below, it is anticipated the new park and pedestrian bridge will help reduce traffic congestion by encouraging more pedestrians to walk between the central campus and Technology Square.

The I-985 project replaced an existing diamond interchange at SR 53 with a split diamond interchange that provides improved access between I-985 and SR 53 as well as providing access from SR 13.  The improved interchange adds collector-distributor roads along I-985 to separate entering and exiting movements from mainline interstate traffic, providing increased safety. In addition to roadway improvements, the project included three bridges and eight retaining walls.

GPTQ Awards are presented to companies whose projects best embody the ongoing evolution of innovation and quality in serving the transportation needs of Georgia.

“Successful projects culminating in award recognition is a source of great pride for our team,” said Bruce McNitt, ARCADIS’ Transportation Business Practice Manager. “We listen carefully to what our clients need and desire and then we go to work to create winning solutions.
