ARCADIS Names Albert Malinak as Senior Bridge Engineer; to Oversee Structural Designs and Mentor Young Engineers  
 

ARCADIS (EURONEXT: ARCAD), an international consulting and engineering company, announced that Albert Malinak has been hired as a senior bridge engineer in the Akron, OH office. He will work on the flood protection project in New Orleans as well as other major projects.
Mr. Malinak has 34 years of experience as a structural engineer and project manager with expertise in transportation structures. He possesses a rich knowledge of design, analysis and plan preparation for highway and railroad bridges as well as associated structures. As a seasoned engineer, Mr. Malinak will provide ARCADIS with unique insights that will allow him to serve as a mentor to the company's young engineers.

He has been involved in all facets of project development, from proposal preparation through project closeout, including design, checking and reviewing project plans, cost estimating, preparing construction specifications and overall project supervision. His previous project experience involved new and replacement structures as well as the rehabilitation of existing structures.

Mr. Malinak's rehabilitation projects have included the design of structural steel beams, plate girders and pier bents as well as reinforced concrete substructures of various types. He has also designed temporary supports and jacking systems for raising bridge superstructures used in beam bearing rehabilitations and replacements. He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with bachelor's and master's degrees in Civil Engineering.
